Campus 19

Campus 19 is a free, innovative code training program that focuses on projects and group work rather than theoretical instruction. Inspired by France’s École 42, Campus 19 is a platform for excellence in computer science for all, enabling participants to develop technical and human skills that are in demand on the job market, and guiding them towards successful and long-term careers.

Our mission

Following Xavier Niel’s successful launch of the innovative 42 school in France, the idea was born to create a school of excellence in IT based on the same pedagogical model in Belgium. Indeed, the launch of such a training program was prompted by two factors: the growing number of STEM jobs on offer in Belgium, and the desire to offer professional career opportunities to all, despite the inequitable access to training. The need: to find a leader to launch the school, initially in Brussels.

Our method for this mission

  • Preparation and launch of Campus 19 in Brussels in 2018
  • Search for sponsors and maintenance of the partnerships
  • Operational and team management of the school
  • Phase 2 : launch of a campus in Antwerp in 2023

Our success

Campus 19 has trained 500 students since its inception in 2018, and has expanded to Brussels and Antwerp. The planned budget has been respected, and the school benefits from the support of prestigious sponsors such as GBL, its founding sponsor, and long-term sponsors such as Belfius, Deloitte, the 4 Wings foundation, dpg media… And the school’s social impact is undeniable: it is free and accessible to all, with no initial diploma requirements.
